The platform's first $1B in funded assets
The Challenge
CrowdStreet was a B2C fintech platform connecting individual investors with commercial real estate opportunities. The company needed a complete marketing and sales infrastructure built from the ground up — no team, no playbook, no systems in place. The goal: build a two-sided marketplace that could attract and convert accredited individual investors while also serving institutional real estate sponsors.
What I Built
As the founding VP Marketing, I designed and implemented the full growth stack: audience development programs to identify and attract accredited investors, content strategy including authoring a 150-page book on real estate investing basics (sold on Amazon), demand generation across paid and organic channels, CRM and marketing automation infrastructure, sales enablement tools and processes, and a comprehensive analytics framework to measure performance across the entire funnel. I hired and trained the marketing team from scratch.
The Results
Scaled the revenue run-rate from $1M to $10M in 2 years. Over $1 billion in assets was funded on the platform during my tenure, on more than $350 million in LP equity placed. The marketing and technology foundation I built became the engine that powered the company's growth trajectory, establishing CrowdStreet as a leading B2C investment platform in the commercial real estate space.
